Introducing The Make It Market Kit: Market Street

Good morning, friends! I'm so excited today to be helping introduce the newest Make It Market kit from Betsy Veldman and Papertrey Ink. The new Market Street kit is absolutely darling! Betsy has made it so easy to create stunning cards and charming packaging in no time at all. The details she included, from multi-step flowers and produce to gorgeous patterned papers, are definitely not to be missed.

The next Make It Market Kit is entitled "Market Street". This entire kit revolves around a gorgeous market cart, both traditional flat and an incredibly detailed three-dimensional version! Both carts have inserts with different toppers that can be used, including things for several seasons and occasions. Apples for fall or even teacher, pumpkins for the fall or Thanksgiving, tulips for spring or Easter, and more! Not to mention you can experiment with other images in your stash to see what can fit in the cart. Use the dimensional cart as a treat container, something to hold small gifts, table decor and whatever else you dream up! Set the scene for your market cart creations with some amazing city street stencils. There's also some basic stripes that can be used for the awning on the dimensional cart, or as a background. All of the pieces of this kit come together to form a versatile, timeless collection that you will be excited to own.

The Market Street Kit contains:
Market Street stamp set & labels
Market Street A2 paper collection (20 sheets)
Market Street stencil collection (set of 4)
Market Street: Basics die collection
Market Street: Cart Basics die collection
Market Street: Cart Toppers die collection

This kit will be available for purchase from Papertrey Ink tomorrow night (Thursday, June 1st) at 10pm ET. Be sure to stop by Nichole's blog to see the full details of the kit along with all it has to offer!

Now that we've gotten through the nitty gritty, how about we take a peek at a few projects?

Market Street Cards

One of my favorite things about this kit is the seasonal items Betsy designed to fill the carts. There are flowers, apples, and adorable little pumpkins to peddle from the market cart. I designed a project for three of the four seasons in mind, so let's kick things off with my Spring project.

Spring Market Birthday Ensemble

I designed a birthday ensemble that relied primarily on the patterned papers included in the kit. I began by creating the card. I started by using one of the Double Ups: Rectangles to cut a window from the center of a panel of Berry Sorbet patterned paper. I ran it through my die cut machine a second time with the embossing mats in place to get a nice, crisp embossed scallop around the edges of the opening.

I layered that over another panel of patterned paper, this one a creamy text pattern, using foam adhesive to give a bit of depth.

Next, I die cut the cart, tulips, canopy from the pre-printed elements included in the kit. I stamped the sentiment onto the canopy using True Black ink and then assembled my cart in the die cut window on the card front.

Spring Market Birthday Cart

I wanted to create a coordinating gift box and the tiny, 3D cart dies that Betsy designed are perfect! I began by sponging Smokey Shadow ink onto white cardstock using the striped stencil included in the kit. I die cut that cardstock using the canopy die and assembled it before setting it aside. Next, I die cut the cart body and canopy supports from white cardstock, the sides from Aqua Mist, and the wheels from Smokey Shadow.

Spring Market Birthday Cart 2

I assembled the cart using brads through the wheels (so they actually spin). This little cart is adorable and it comes together quickly...win-win! I dressed up the cart with another set of pre-printed tulips and one of the printed sentiments. It's all ready for a small gift or treat!

Next up, I have a thank you card that reminds me of bright Summertime flowers.

Summer Market Thank You Card

I started this card by using the striped canopy stencil to sponge a subtle background on a Spring Rain card base. Then, I stamped and die cut a Pure Poppy and Black market cart. I used the Market Street stamp set to create the wildflower arrangement in the cart, too.

Summer Market Thank You Card 2
Betsy made the process so simple! That whole cart of flowers required only four impressions. I used a bit of sponging to add depth to the flowers, but it truly looked beautiful before I added that detail. Next, I sponged a scrap of white cardstock with Green Parakeet ink and die cut it with the label die in the kit before stamping it with the sentiment in True Black.

Summer Market Thank You Card 3

I die cut a Mix & Mat: Scallops panel from white cardstock and tied it with white crochet thread before attaching it to the card base with foam tape. I added the cart and the sentiment with more foam tape and then embellished the cart's wheel with a black gemstone.

And lastly today, here's my Autumn project.

Autumn Market Thank You Card

I began by using the storefront stencils on a piece of Rustic White cardstock. I was going for a brick look, so I used Canyon Clay and Terra Cotta Tile inks. I trimmed out the storefront and then cut a window opening. in the center. I used the detail stencil to trace window decals onto a piece of vellum and I stamped the sentiment using white Stazon. Doesn't it look like the windows you might see in a small boutique? I adhered the vellum in the opening on the storefront and set it aside for a moment.

Next, I lightly sponged a bit of Aqua Mist onto a scalloped Rustic White card base. I added speckles with clean water and a cobblestone street with Copic markers. I used the stencils to create an awning for my storefront and added it in place after adhering the storefront to the card base.

Then, I stamped and die cut the cart using Ripe Avocado and Smokey Shadow inks. The pumpkins came next. On those, I used Summer Sunrise and Canyon Clay inks. The leaves were stamped in Prairie Grass and Olive Twist inks. Once those pieces were die cut, I adhered them to the store front using foam tape.
